Loma Linda University School of Public Health (SPH) has received the highest level of accreditation — a seven-year term — from the Council of Education for Public Health (CEPH), a nationally recognized accrediting body for public health schools and programs. This recognition extends through Dec. 31, 2031, affirming the school’s commitment to academic excellence and innovative research.
This achievement continues the school's 60-year legacy of excellence, building on its prior accreditation from 2018 to 2024.
Accreditation from CEPH signifies that an institution provides students with a comprehensive education that equips them with the knowledge and skills to address today’s most pressing public health challenges.
"Accreditation is the lifeblood of an academic institution," said Adam Aréchiga, PsyD, DrPH, Dean of the School of Public Health. "The years granted reflect the accrediting body’s confidence in the quality and sustainability of the program or school."
In addition to ensuring quality education, this accreditation reinforces the school’s commitment to adapting to the evolving professional standards of the dynamic public health field.
"There are always changing standards in the professional world,” said Aréchiga. “Accreditation signals to the world that you are at the forefront, doing all the necessary work to keep abreast of changes in the profession."
As the school enters this new accreditation cycle, it reaffirms its commitment to educating the next generation of public health professionals. The recognition validates the school's current achievements and sets the stage for future innovations in public health education and research.
