Global Health

Loma Linda University School of Public Health has launched a three-year bachelor’s degree in global health to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to address today’s most pressing health challenges from a global health perspective.

Through case studies, fieldwork, and interdisciplinary projects, students will develop competencies in public health strategies, community outreach, health communication, and culturally responsive care. Graduates will be prepared to apply evidence-based practices and collaborate across sectors to improve health outcomes for diverse populations.

Graduates will gain valuable experience and foundational skills to start in a variety of global health roles. Completing this program will set students on a fast track to advanced education, positioning them to also pursue specialized careers through Loma Linda University’s master's degree programs.

“This new bachelor’s degree program addresses the evolving educational needs of students pursuing careers where an accelerated pathway can significantly enhance affordability, accessibility, and alignment with workforce demands,” said Adam Aréchiga, PsyD, DrPH, Dean of the School of Public Health. “We know our graduates will have careers that will significantly impact how health is maintained and improved throughout society.”

Students may explore roles such as health education assistant, program coordinator, community health advocate, community health worker, and research assistant, among many.

The new program reflects Loma Linda University’s mission to prepare students for service-oriented careers in the health sciences while maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and excellence.
