Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital received $195,000 from Spirit of Children on Tuesday, February 13 during a check presentation to support the Child Life department.
Spirit of Children’s annual fundraiser across all 28 Inland Empire store locations last fall, was their most successful fundraiser to date.
The Child Life Program provides young patients and their families comprehensive support during hospitalization every day of the year. Specially trained staff provide a range of services, including access to activity rooms, emotional and mental support, school reintegration programs, coping strategies, and education on medical procedures and diagnoses.
Every October, Spirit of Children hosts a Fall Festival at the Children’s Hospital to give patients a fun break from their hospital rooms, complete with costumes, games, and crafts.
Spirit of Children has supported Children’s Hospital since 2013, raising more than $1.2 million for the program over the years.
