These ‘A’ grades demonstrate Loma Linda University Health’s dedication to patient safety

Loma Linda University Medical Center, East Campus, and Loma Linda University Medical Center–Murrieta hospitals have received “A” grades for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group for fall 2025. This is the Medical Center and East Campus hospitals’ 14th and 15th consecutive “A” safety ratings, respectively, and Murrieta’s fourth consecutive “A” from the Leapfrog Group.

The Leapfrog Safety Grades are updated twice annually, in the spring and fall, and they highlight Loma Linda University Health’s ongoing organization-wide commitment to patient safety.

“This recognition reflects not only our commitment to safety and quality but also the extraordinary consistency, compassion, and excellence that define our care,” Anthony Hilliard, MD, FACC, CEO of Loma Linda University Health Hospitals said. “Behind every “A” is a story of courage, of teamwork, and of lives changed. These grades reflect data—but more importantly, they reflect people."

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assesses hospitals across the nation using evidence-based measures of patient safety regarding errors, accidents, injuries, and infections. Hospitals are graded with an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” based on their performance.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program that focuses exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and medical harm. The independent national watchdog organization’s grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.
