Teaching hospital

Loma Linda University Medical Center East Campus Hospital has been named a Top Teaching Hospital by The Leapfrog Group for the fourth time.

Anthony Hilliard, MD, CEO of Loma Linda University Health Hospitals, said the recognition underscores the combined work of every employee to maintain a strong culture of safety and quality.

“This Leapfrog honor for our East Campus recognizes Loma Linda University Health’s commitment to preparing the physicians of tomorrow,” Hilliard said. “Our national reputation as a top faith-based university medical center draws some of the finest talent to our healthcare team. We’re privileged to have an elite group of physicians who mentor the students and residents who come here to learn healthcare’s best practices."

Announced today, the award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive awards an American hospital can receive. The Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog organization, is recognized as the toughest standard-setter for healthcare safety and quality.

LLUMC East Campus was one of only 75 named a Top Teaching Hospital.

To qualify for the Top Hospitals distinction, hospitals must rank top among peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital performance on the highest standards for quality and patient safety and achieve top performance in its category.
