Volunteers and participants gather for a check presentation

K-FROG 95.1's 22nd annual Stater Bros. Charities K-Froggers for Kids Radiothon raised more than $152,000 for Loma Linda University Children's Hospital Thursday, December 7.  The proceeds are dedicated to aiding young patients fighting cancer and other diseases. Cancer is the second leading cause of death after accidents among children ages 1 to 14, according to the American Cancer Society. However, thanks to major advances in treatment over recent decades, 85% of children with cancer now survive five years or more.

During the past 22 years, K-FROG has raised more than $7 million for the hospital during the annual holiday-themed event.

Stater Bros. Charities, the presenting sponsor for the event, donated $100,000 to the Children's Hospital.

La Loma Federal Credit Union added to the day's giving spirit, volunteering from the early hours and contributing $500 in gift cards for the hospital's Santa's Workshop event, which allows parents of young patients to shop for Christmas gifts.

Les Schwab Tires continued its five-year tradition of support by presenting a $5,000 check to the Children's Hospital.

Rialto Police Department also volunteered their time to answer calls from donors tuning in.

The 12-hour on-air fundraiser was broadcast live on 95.1 FM (Riv/SB/OC/LA) and 92.9 FM (Temecula Valley) from Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga. K-FROG radio hosts Kelli & Guy led the fundraiser, sharing patient testimonies, conducting interviews, and sharing information about the Children's Hospital.
