Donald Moores, MD, chief of division of pediatric surgery and medical director of pediatric trauma services at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, received the 2024 Dr. Leonard L. Bailey Outstanding Clinician Award at the 31st annual Foundation Gala on April 4.

He has dedicated nearly four decades to the field of pediatric surgical and critical care. For more than 32 years, he has served the most critically ill and injured children of the Inland Empire.

He has not only provided outstanding care and compassion to families during their most critical moments but has also advanced the quality of care and support provided to both the patient families and the pediatric residents rotating through Children's Hospital.

As a mentor, Moores goes beyond imparting medical knowledge. He teaches interns the importance of holistic patient care, emphasizing the well-being of both the patient and their family. Leading by example, Moores embodies the qualities of teamwork, inspiration, and compassion, setting a standard of excellence for all who work alongside him.
