Spirit store manager helps patient with festive craft during annual fall event.
Spirit of Children returned to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital (LLUCH) Thursday, October 15, putting on a fall festival with costumes, crafts, and games — an event the organization hopes makes being in the hospital a little less scary.
For 29 years, the charitable organization has partnered with LLUCH to lift the spirits of patients and their families. They have raised more than $1.5 million to support the Child Life Department through in-store donations and other employee-led initiatives.
Shannon Casselman, senior zone manager at Spirit stores, said she is proud to partner with LLUCH to make a difference in the lives of children.
"Being part of Spirit of Children is incredibly meaningful because it’s about so much more than fundraising — it’s about bringing hope, joy, and comfort to children and families during their most difficult moments,” Casselman said.
