Rehabilitation center

Loma Linda University Health has been named to Newsweek’s 2025 list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers. Loma Linda University Medical Center’s East Campus houses many rehabilitation services that patients require as they face various conditions and injuries. LLUH’s rehabilitation services offer inpatient and outpatient programs combining patient-centered care, advanced treatments, and innovative research.

The rankings were published on Newsweek’s website on today and will be featured in Newsweek’s print edition on September 5.

“Our team of highly qualified doctors, therapists, nurses, and support staff work together so that each patient receives the best possible outcome and improves their quality of life,” said Darryl VandenBosch, CPA, senior vice president for East Campus and Surgical Hospital. “We’re pleased that this recognition puts the spotlight on how well our teams and their patients partner together.”

This is the fifth year in a row that LLUH has been honored by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. America's Best Physical Rehab Centers 2025 features 320 physical rehabilitation centers. LLUH’s rehabilitation services ranked Number 4 within the state of California.

Newsweek developed the ranking to celebrate the best physical rehabilitation centers, their staff for their excellence, and the organizations that enable them to do their best work.

Four evaluation factors determine which hospitals qualify for inclusion on Newsweek’s honor roll:

  • Quality metrics data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • A national online survey of experts with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers (physicians, physiotherapists, doctors, clinic managers and other health care professionals).
  • Accreditation data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC).
  • Google reviews which serve as a proxy for patient satisfaction.

The complete list of the nation’s top 300 rehabilitation services can be found on the Newsweek website.
