Mother and baby

Newsweek has listed Loma Linda University Children's Hospital (LLUCH) as one of America's Best Maternity Hospitals 2026, recognizing the facility for its excellence in providing care to mothers, newborns, and their families. The recognition was based on a national review of hospital quality metrics, patient survey results, key performance indicators, and a survey of medical professionals offering their top recommendations for the best maternity hospitals.

“This recognition underscores the dedication of each of our staff members’ commitment to our community’s families,” said Peter Baker, Senior Vice President and Administrator of Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. “We continue to remain steadfast in ensuring that each expectant mother and newborn receives the outstanding support they need before, during, and after the birthing journey.”

LLUCH provides moms and babies with comprehensive pregnancy, labor, and delivery care in a service area that covers four counties throughout Southeastern California, and delivers quality and compassionate maternity care in the San Manuel Maternity Pavilion, which opened in August 2021. The hospital provides comprehensive labor and delivery services with a delivery rate exceeding 4,000 babies each year. It is equipped to handle low-risk and high-risk births with specially designed operating rooms, including C-section facilities and a Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

LLUCH has been recognized with this honor each year since the designation was created five years ago. The complete list of recipients is available online and at newsstands nationwide.
