Hospital

Loma Linda University Medical Center is one of the top patient-recommended hospitals in the state of California, according to results from this year’s national Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems — known as HCHAPS.

HCHAPS is developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. The survey’s results were released July 31 and compiled by Becker’s Hospital Review.

Hospitals were evaluated by a 29-question survey distributed to patients at random that sought their perceptions on things such as communication from doctors and nurses, the hospital’s cleanliness and quietness, and discharge or transition information.

“Honest feedback from our patients recognizes the commitment each of our team members displays while offering our world-class, whole-person care,” said Trevor Wright, CEO of Loma Linda University Health Hospitals. “I am grateful our patients recognize and recommend our excellent service.”

More than 4,000 hospitals participate in the program. Only 27 hospitals in California received the highest ranking of five stars in this year’s survey. See the full list of ranked hospitals at Becker’s Hospital Review.
