Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer presented a check for $250,000 to Loma Linda University Cancer Center on Tuesday, August 20. This donation, part of the funds raised at the 16th annual Believe Walk in October 2023, will go toward advancing cutting-edge treatments and research at the Cancer Center.

The funds raised will directly contribute to the LLU Cancer Center’s ongoing work in several promising therapies, including Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) therapy, CAR T-cell therapy, Theranostics, and Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). These innovative treatments represent the future of cancer care, offering hope and improved outcomes for patients facing challenging diagnoses.

"The Believe Walk and the generosity of our community partners enable us to push the boundaries of cancer treatment," said Mark Reeves, MD, PhD, director of the Cancer Center. "We are so grateful for these funds that are an important part of providing cutting-edge therapies and ensuring all our patients have access to the highest standard of care."

Last year’s donation funded various patient support services, including navigation assistance, financial aid, transportation vouchers, and wellness services such as chair massages and support groups. This year, the impact will be even more significant as the Cancer Center expands its focus on pioneering therapies that could revolutionize cancer treatment.

As the Cancer Center continues to innovate and lead in the field of oncology, the ongoing support from the Believe Walk ensures that these advancements are accessible to all patients, regardless of their financial circumstances. The 17th annual Believe Walk will take place on Sunday, October 6, bringing the community together once again to support this vital cause.

You can support cancer patients and survivors by signing up to participate and donate to the cause.
