During the final evaluations, physicians reviewed players’ screening results and provided medical clearance as appropriate to prepare for the upcoming start of the 2026-27 season.
Jeff Burum, managing partner of the Empire Strykers and president of the Major Arena Soccer League, emphasized the importance of comprehensive physicals for the team.
“At the Empire Strykers, we believe our responsibility to our players goes far beyond what happens on the field. These athletes dedicate themselves to performing at the highest level, and we owe them the same commitment when it comes to protecting their health, wellness, and long-term quality of life. Comprehensive physicals are about much more than preparing for a season. They’re about prevention, early detection, and making sure our players have the medical resources and support they need to thrive both during and after their playing careers.”

The event also provided LLUH an opportunity to support the health and safety of local athletes while strengthening its connection to the Inland Empire community. Burum highlighted the importance of the Empire Strykers partnership with LLUH and how it represents something bigger than soccer.
"It brings together world-class healthcare and professional sports with a shared commitment to healthier athletes, healthier families, and a healthier community. We’re incredibly proud of this relationship and grateful to have a partner that shares our belief that investing in people is the most important investment we can make.”
