Dishes for Wishes, an annual cooking class and fundraiser hosted by the Big Hearts for Little Hearts Loma Linda Guild, took place Wednesday, October 30, at the National Orange Show Events Center with nearly 400 people attending to raise money for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital – specifically to help purchase an X-Porte Ultrasound and Transducer for the pediatric intensive care unit.
The 20th annual event was emceed by Martha Green, chef and owner of The Eating Room & Dough L’ectibles in Redlands, and featured a shopping hour, cooking demonstrations, a patient story and food served by local law enforcement officers, firefighters and Teen Challenge representatives. The co-chairs for the event were Laurie Munson and Cheryl Fallon.
The Loma Linda Guild participates in multiple projects and hosts several events every year. Since 1999 they have raised nearly $2 million in funds for children at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
