There was a whole lot of celebrating at the School of Public Health graduation

A total of 142 students graduated from Loma Linda University School of Public Health on Sunday, June 12. Of that number, 34 received an MBA, 90 received an MPH, one received an MS, 16 received a DrPH, and one received a PhD.

Commencement speaker Timothy Gillespie, PhD, who serves as senior pastor of Crosswalk Church as well as a chaplain at Azusa Pacific University and assistant professor at Loma Linda University School of Public Health, addressed the class of 2016 on the topic of "Success, Significance, Survival."

After the conferring of degrees, Anna Nelson, MPH, and Darrell Kent Peterson, DrPH, led the graduates in reciting the graduation pledge. Nelson is director of the oncampus and online MPH program and Peterson is a member of the class of 2016 who just received a DrPH in health policy and leadership.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, graduates marched in to the sunshine to celebrate their achievements with friends and family members.
