This year’s event offered a fully involved kid zone that included a sudsy foam pit. With the help of a volunteer, this young superhero got up close and personal with the moisture.

Superheroes of every caliber attended this year’s annual Family Health Fair and 5K. Despite the gloomy weather, approximately 1900 people still came out for some family fun, and about 500 people participated in the 5K on Sunday, Oct. 30.

With flu season upon us, about a quarter of attendees took advantage of free flu shots that were offered to kids and adults ages three and up. Additional screenings and activities were also popular including arts and crafts, teddy bear clinic, car seat safety, cooking demonstrations, free chair massages, and blood pressure, glucose and vision screenings to name a few.

New this year was a fully involved outdoor kid zone that offered free face painting, games, walking talking vegetables and a giant foam pit.
