LOMA LINDA, CA., September 8, 2016 – This year marks 15 years since the terrorist attacks that took place Sept. 11, 2001. Two events will take place this Sunday, to remember those who lost their lives. On Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016, the public is invited to join a 9/11 motorcycle Memorial Ride, followed by a 9/11 Memorial Ceremony at the Loma Linda Fire Department where a six-foot section of an I-beam from one of the World Trade Center twin towers rests.

The monument housing the steel beam, which was scarred by the destruction that took 2,606 lives at the World Trade Center, was dedicated Sept. 11, 2012.

The 9/11 Memorial Ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. in front of the Loma Linda Fire Department, 111325 Loma Linda Drive, Loma Linda, CA 92354, following the motorcycle Memorial Ride. A barbecue will be held at American Legion Post 422, 848 S. Lilac Ave., Rialto, CA 92376 immediately after the ceremony.
