<p>At the conferring of degrees celebration for the Loma Linda University School of Medicine (LLUSM), which was held Sunday, May 29, on the lawn between Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and Loma Linda University Church, a total of 168 members of the class of 2016 received MD degrees while one scholar received the BS degree, eight received the MS degree, and 16 received the PhD degree. The last three categories of degrees were bestowed by the department of earth and biological sciences. As the photographs attest, the day contained elements of somber reflection and joyous festivity.
